One Earth Film Festival is a Chicago area film festival that aims to create opportunities for understanding climate change, sustainability and the power of human involvement. During its inaugural event in 2012, the fest drew over 500 viewers to enjoy a rich program of 33 remarkable films. The 2013 festival’s 1,900+ attendees screened 40 films in locations throughout Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park and Chicago, IL, and participated in riveting discussions on a wide range of sustainability topics. One Earth Film Festival is a production of Green Community Connections.
Ellen Tripler, director of "Dying Green," a documentary about using green burials to conserve land, spoke with Pam Todd of the One Earth Film Festival in this March 2013 interview, conducted at Pleasant Home in Oak Park, IL.
Jeffrey Smith's documentary "Genetic Roulette" was screened March 2 at the River Forest (IL) Village Hall. The film looks at the effect of genetically modified organisms on our environment and food supply.
Christi Cooper Kuhn's films from Stories of TRUST: Calling for Climate Recovery were featured throughout the 2013 festival. The films feature youth taking action to address climate change.
