'Monty and Rose' Screening

From the Forest Preserves of Cook County:

Join naturalists at Sagawau Environmental Learning Center in the Forest Preserves of Cook County for this special event featuring:

  • An introduction to piping plovers by FPCC naturalist and Sagawau bird bander Leslie DeCourcey

  • A screening of the 24-min documentary Monty and Rose. "Monty and Rose" tells the story of a pair of endangered Piping Plovers attempting to nest on a busy beach in Chicago. The short, independent documentary chronicles these special birds and an unpredictable series of events including a proposed music festival that propelled them to national headlines.
